Going back further before times of American borders, it&#39;s believed that the location indigenous Mexicans (Aztecs/Mexica) originated from is in that very land, somewhere near Arizona/New Mexico. Natural disasters and economic troubles do cause people to wonder about God&#39;s role in the world and whether He works in the midst of chaos. I believe that he does and I believe that goodness and grace can come out of it. Could this whole recent economic collapse be a sign of America&#39;s lifestyle? Americans have gotten so far from God it seems in the past 50 or 60 years. In the 1950s, there were many more Christian homes, the father as the leader of the household, wife as the respected mother, and kids. Nowadays, it&#39;s common life for people to get divorced, single parent households, where mothers act like fathers and fathers like mothers. About 50% of marriages end in divorce last time I heard. Back in the 50&#39;s they would have called it a ruined household. Today however, it&#39;s perfectly normal. Makes me wonder, does this society really have &quot;normal&quot; values and motives? He speaks of us voluntarily trying to be slaves in life to God and Mary. The reason he says this is because servants give most to their master, demand wages, may leave when they wish, etc. However, a slave gives all he has, demands nothing and can&#39;t leave until their master gives word. This, he says is what we should strive for here on earth. It&#39;s hard, but we should keep trying to be slaves, and not servants to God.<br /><br />Watching the sunset (or other quiet things like that) is something everyone should do a little while every day I think. Blocking out all the noise of the world can be good. People can get many questions and answers of God this way. We need those quiet times with God before the temptations of the world arise. I guess it&#39;s sort of like before those football games when everyone&#39;s getting focused, about to go into battle. The games were people were goofing off and not focused, we&#39;d always lose, but when we did focus, victory would (usually) come our way.
